Use pliers for the children to hold on. Make sure the spoon is not too close to the candle, you don't want smoke.

Glueing the Tree of Life

I am always terrified of using the glue gun, so I make the children wear a glove on the hand they use for sticking the elements. The other hand has to hold on to the glue gun and is not allowed to let go!
