Step 1: Make 6 lines with a ruler - they must all cross at the same  point.

Step 2: Every 2nd triangle is going to get 3 happy "smiley" lines (width doesn't matter)

Step 3: The remaining triangles (every other 2nd) is getting 3 sad "smiley" lines.

Step 4: Choose 2 different colours (complimentary work best).

Step 5: Start with all the happy "smiley" triangles and add a dot of the first colour you chose starting in the centre with the smallest triangle. A dot goes only in every 2nd area in the same triangle part.

Step 6: Let them colour in the areas that have the dot in (only the same colour).

Step 7: Repeat the same with the sad "smiley" triangle.

 

Trust me, it sounds more complicated than it is!

The children love this project, so it's worth getting your head around  it.
